Els van Lieshout finds a lot of her inspiration in metropolis. In Berlin she found this composition that arose by coincidence.

"A big city always overwhelms me at first glance. At that moment I cannot decide what to photograph or what pieces of paper I would like to gather. Berlin’ city life is not what I am looking for initially; the streets are wide and quiet. It is not until a day or three that I start noticing things that could be interesting to me. For example lampposts that are all covered up by adhesives, posters and letters. Everybody just seems to cover up someone else’s message by his or her own. In this I see beautiful combinations. More and more often I now see interesting compositions in torn off posters on the streets."

On this page new compositions will be shown regularly.
